River North

 

River North is the most cosmopolitan neighborhood in the city. It is home to the largest building in the country by square footage. The building is called the Merchandise Mart. Inside this massive structure you will be about to shop for furniture and fashion until you drop.
Hundreds of restaurant will never keep your belly empty. In this community you will find restaurants with reputations. Ed debevic’s is a well known burger stop with a great wait staff to keep you laughing. Around the corner you will find yourself back in the 1950’s at the Rock’n Roll McDonalds.  Cross the street you can walk into the tropical rain forest at Rainforest Café. This is only a small glimpse of restaurants to try.
After dinner the fun does not stop.  There are dozens of clubs and lounges to visit. Coffee shops and internet lounges are never hard to find. If drinks are not what you are looking for The River North Gallery district has the largest concentration of art galleries in all of Chicago.
In the summer you will be filled with options. One of the major attractions is going to be at the neighboring town of the Gold Coast. The Gold Coat River North Art Fair is one of the largest art fairs held in the Midwest. If cross the street is something you rather not do, you can always go to the River North Summerfest. 
Getting around River North is easy. The Brown, Purple and Red CTA Trains run through stopping in several different places. There are bus routes on all major streets and cabs everywhere.
