Edgewater

Edgewater is boarded by Lake Michigan, hence the name Edgewater! There are 3 different beach opening for you to enjoy the fun in the sun. If you like the suburban feel and still want to live in the city Edgewater is the town for you. Beautiful tree-lined streets, historic homes, it's also family friendly. Throughout the year you will find block parties and fest throughout the streets. If you drive a car it is only 10 minutes from down town. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Rogers Park to the north, Uptown to the south, Lincoln Square to the west.

Edgewater's ethnically diverse environment has made it a hot destination for fans of global cuisine eager to sample some of the city's best around the world dining. While the nightlife here is a bit more laid back than in some trendier hoods, corner bars and neighborhood pubs are what you will find. Another reason people tend to love Edgewater is the Bryn Mawr Historic District. The buildings in the historic district have all been restored to look like the 1920’s. Bryn Mawr historical shopping district, locally owned storefronts everywhere, near Loyola, several theater companies, plenty of grocery stores, and bakeries.

Edgewater is bounded by Foster Avenue on the south, Devon Avenue on the north, Ravenswood Avenue on the west, and Lake Michigan on the east.

Getting around is easy with Purple El lines and five Red El line stops, as well as the Metra. There are buses on all major streets.
